Eric Ciocci

Hey everyone! I’m Eric, from Stamford, CT a junior studying AME. I love live music, and play guitar and bass. For acoustics, I’m big into sound propagation, room acoustics, and really anything recording. Looking forward to doing some sweet things in this class!

Cash Close

Hello, I’m Cash! I’m a junior, getting an AME major and a CS minor. I’m from northern Virginia, outside of DC. I mostly play guitar, but I’ve learned several other instruments, including banjo and mandolin, most recently. I don’t know if anyone else here sails, but I lived and traveled on a sailboat for three years of my life and love being by the water and talking about sailing.

There are many different types of acoustics projects I’d enjoy, but since I’m living at home this semester, a software-based one probably will be my choice.

Changjie Wu

Hi everyone,

My name’s Changjie Wu. I’m a junior majoring in AME. I play the piano and guitar. For music, I’m a big fun of heavy metal and classical rock. This semester, I’m thinking to build a music speaker system.

Teghan Murray

Hi everyone! My name is Teghan, and I’m a Junior studying AME. I play bass and trombone, and I love recording music. I’m also a member of the Varsity Cross Country and Track teams at U of R! My research interests for this semester include room acoustics and impulse responses.

Sparky Shore

I’m a Junior at the University of Rochester majoring in Audio Music Engineering. I love sports, music, video games and coding challenges, and I have a habit of finding creative ways to combine my interests, as I did in my most recent project, when I wrote a voice-activated goal horn program in Python. I am interested in working on a software-based project.

Zilin Zeng

Hey guys! My name is Zilin Zeng; you can also call me Daniel. I am currently a junior in  Audio and Music Engineering and my personal interest lies in loudspeakers and headphones. I have an idea of setting the research topic on acoustic related with glass cups since I have seen a lot of youtube videos about making different pitches with cups of different shapes and with cups containing different water volume. I have also seen related research about the harmonics of a bottle under different frequencies. I am wondering if I can get some inspiration from those equations about fourier series taught in AME233.

Tianwei Jiang

My name is Tianwei Jiang, and I am a junior majoring in AME and Applied Mathematics. I am interested in audio software development and acoustics engineering, which emerged from my song editing and writing experience in high school, so I would like to learn how to develop the softwares that I have used in college. My favorite music type is a mixture of pop, rock and electric. My favorite bands are Day6/The Rose/The 1975/Sunset Rollercoaster/831/Oasis/Honne/LANY. I am also learning to how play classical guitar and drums.

For the research topic, I am interested in exploring different sound and and pitches that a glass vessel can make, and I am looking forward to using glasses and water as musical instruments to perform after I have done all the researches and experiments.

Jiwei Zou

Hi I’m Jiwei, I double major in AME and Music. My interest in AME is audio signal processing and acoustics. My ultimate goal is to combine music with cutting edge technology.
